1V06 - 17:00 Liverpool St - Great Yarmouth 5th January 2005

One of the main , if not THE benefit to rail-fans of the new timetable that commenced in December was the re-introduction of a through inter-city service between Great Yarmouth and London Liverpool St . Years ago , such a service had existed , but for the last 12? at least years , this has only been the case on summer saturdays  - recent years have provided class 170s on selected through services. The pictures below are from the 5th of January - some month into the new timetable , but remarkably only the 4th time that the service had actually made it to the resort in the evening - the morning service (departing at 06.22) having run near faultlessly . 47818 was in charge , towing 90002.

47818 at Norwich awaiting departure. The 47 arrived at Great Yarmouth.
90002 now at the rear , to leave Yarmouth. 'one' 90002 looking a little lost at Yarmouth.
